There’s plenty of buzz around DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) in the workplace. More companies are recognizing the importance of DEI in shaping their success. What used to be seen as merely a “trending topic” is now being understood as key to true growth and innovation.

There’s plenty of DEI training available. Dozens of articles to read on the subject, a variety of podcasts, and numerous forums for engaging in meaningful conversations. It’s great to explore all those resources to build your knowledge! 

However, the real game-changer occurs when an organization’s leadership (which includes you) no longer perceives DEI as a mere ‘trending topic’ or another hiring requirement.

The potential of DEI for your company’s success is unlocked when your organization’s leadership understands what each component (the D, the E, and the I) really stands for, has a vision for what it means for the success of your organization, and can communicate it with ease. Your ability to talk about DEI helps employees understand and embrace it. And when your employees view DEI as an exciting path forward rather than merely a company mandate or hiring requirement, that’s when the magic starts to happen!
